Biography
Currently, I'm a high school Digital Photography teacher and freelance photographer based in Ventura County, California. I've taught the fundamentals of black and white film through to the latest digital camera and post-processing techniques for the past 12 of my 27 years as an educator. Looking back, I began practicing my own sports photography skills when I was a high school yearbook staff photographer. I guess my teaching career is really a "paying it forward" gift out of respect for those who taught me. When I'm not taking photos, you'll find me working around the house, researching my ancestry, or spending time with family.
Expertise
My work focuses on recording a special moment in time, whether it's portraiture, athletic performances, or just working with the perfect light in the golden hour. Always experimenting with new techniques, I'm equally comfortable with analog and digital technologies, and use both according to the needs of the project.
